Ashcroft was built pre World War II for Denis Latham and
family. The Post Office moved from the Village Shop and for some years was
carried on here.

Denis was a Parish Councillor and active in Village affairs.
As well as running the Post Office he ran a taxi service and charged batteries
for wireless sets.

The Post Office moved back to the Village Shop for a short
while and then to Hillside Dairy
