Cattons, at one time known as Edrema. Picture contributed by Roger Druce Cattons is on the opposite side of the road from The Old Stores with four garages in front of it. These were intended to be let to the owners of those cottages on the hill without space for their own garages; they were built on the site of the old bakehouse described earlier. [ "Edrema" was built in1966 { the name was a combination of the names Edwin Druce (Roger's father, known to everyone as Ted), Roger Ellis Druce and May Ellis (Roger's mother) } It was renamed to Cattons in about 1991 ] Mallards, built in 1962, Picture contributed by Roger Druce Next to Cattons are Mallards and Hillswood built on part of the meadow that at one time went with the Village Stores and the bakehoue as one holding. Hillswood pictured in 2009 |
